Albemarle County Busted Mugshots is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody, arrange release, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. For any of those matters, use the government office that holds the record or status information.
Official Albemarle Record Contacts
ACRJ is the regional booking and holding facility for the local system, while the Sheriff's Office is not ACRJ's booking-record custodian. Choose the office that created or holds the particular record.

Albemarle County FOIA: James Douglas, 434-972-4067 ext. 7930, jdouglas@albemarle.org. For an ACPD-held arrest or incident record, this is the county's official request channel. Virginia FOIA procedures appear in Va. Code § 2.2-3704; a targeted adult booking-photo request is governed by § 2.2-3706.
Where to Look for the Right Answer
Each official source answers a narrower question. A booking allegation does not establish guilt, and a court case is the place to check the later outcome.
- Virginia VINE is ACRJ's documented route for current custody status and notifications. ACRJ does not publish a public local roster or photo gallery, and VINE is not a court record.
- For a specific adult booking record or photo, start with ACRJ when it booked or holds the person, or use the arresting agency's official records or FOIA channel when that agency holds the requested item.
- Virginia Case Status and Information is the official starting point for later case activity and dispositions. ACRJ says it does not provide dispositions or sentencing orders.
- VADOC's inmate and supervisee locator applies after a person is in Virginia state custody or supervision, not to a new local booking.
- BOP's inmate locator covers federal custody. ICE's detainee locator has a separate immigration-custody scope. Neither is an ACRJ roster.
- The county record overview explains the ACRJ, agency, court, state, and federal sequence in more detail.
